Requirements
The minimum requirement is usually a high school diploma, although an increasing number of police departments require applicants to complete at least one or two years of college coursework or have an associate's degree. A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for federal police jobs.
Purpose
It is the mission to safeguard the lives and property of the people, to reduce the incidence and fear of crime, and to enhance public safety while working with the diverse communities to improve their quality of life.
School Choices
I plan to enter the field of law enforcement. However, as you read above, most stations are requiring at least two years of college. I plan on enrolling in Criminal Justice program, and Informational Technology. All through North Idaho College.

What I have learned
The job as a police officer is much different than what most people perceive it to be. It is a little more convoluted, in the sense you have to memorize all laws of traffic and protocols on how to deal with a stop. You constantly need your guard up or it is a hazard to your safety, or the people around you.
