Events
Meetings
Usually our meetings will be on Tuesdays after school every week. They last about half an hour and for every meeting you attend you will get points that will deduct the cost of your travel expenses for competition. Most meetings will be practicing roleplays or tests as well as going over upcoming events or requirements.
Fundraisers
We usually have only two or three fundraiser events which you get points that reduce your travel costs. Mcspooky is our most consistent fundraiser which is held at Mcdonalds right before Halloween. This is an event where DECA turns the Playhouse into a haunted house and kids get to come in their costumes and eat candy. Other fundraisers tend to vary, so ask an officer or an advisor for details.
Competitions
There are three competitions in DECA. The first is regionals that is held at the Coeur d' Alene Inn and all DECA members compete. The competition lasts an entire school day. State is held in Boise at The Grove Hotel for the DECA members that placed in the top 50% in their event. The competition lasts about 3-4 days. Finally those lucky and dedicated enough go to nationals. Depending on the year nationals can be held in the following places: Orlando FL, Nashville TN, Anehmn CA, and Atlanta GA. The competition lasts roughly 5-7 days including time for fun activities.
